Business Requirements:
Oasis Ministries International (OMI) are a newly started Christian ministry, who were in need of branding and a new website.
My Responsibilities:
To develop the information architecture of the website, create wireframes that portrayed the functionality of the website, and then create and develop a functional and engaging UI design.
My Approach:
Step 1 of 5 – Information Architecture:
I spent time with the client and gathered all the requirements for the site, what they intended to achieve with it and the audience they wanted to retain. I sorted through all the information provided, and developed the information architecture below.

Step 2 of 5 – Wireframes:
Wireframes were developed of the top-level pages, to provide the client with a sense of what the website could look like before starting the build, and to nut out the functionality.
Step 3 of 5 – Set up of Domain Names and WordPress:
Using Siteground and WordPress, the website setup was the next step. WooCommerce was used for the shop functionality and Elementor was installed to build the website. Elementor was chosen so that it could be easy for the client to update the site’s copy and images after handover if required.
Step 4 of 5 – Copy:
Keeping good SEO in mind, I established a set of rules for all headings and used headings for all topic sections throughout the site. I used popular keywords for their business throughout the site as much as possible to ensure the website was discoverable.
Step 5 of 5 – Design:
Using white to contrast the strong imagery provided, I created an impactful design that captured the user’s emotion through copy, imagery and thoughtful layout design
Impact:
A functional website with clean UI design, developed with easy tools for the client to update content as they needed.
